Medical Emergency Services Officers ensure their workplace is in a state of emergency preparedness and are capable of responding to incidents and emergencies.

Key Duties:

• Maintain state of emergency preparedness

• Respond to on site emergencies

• Provide prehospital medical care

• Develop, train and maintain the emergency response team

• Plan, coordinate and participate in site emergency drills

• Coordinate the emergency response team during an incident

• Conduct and participare in post incident briefings

• Maintain medical and emergency equipment to a compliant standard

• Participate and facilitate incident investigations and risk assessments

• Ensure compliance with site policies, procedures and guidelines

• Perform alcohol and drug screening

• Maintain a high level of fitness adequate for the role

• Promoting and supporting the on-site safety culture
